• Serving Sussex, Lannon and Lisbon in Waukesha County

Greetings,

Welcome to a new decade with new enthusiasm for the Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce!

I am honored to be your Chamber president for the next two years. I have worked in banking for 19 years, and currently I am the Sussex branch manager for Waukesha State Bank. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, I am married with two children. Besides serving on the Chamber board, I am also a Sunday school teacher and Finance Committee member at Southbrook Church in Franklin.

What will the Chamber bring you in 2020? How about a little magic? The Chamber will host the Disney Institute on May 12. You will not want to miss this world-class program on business excellence where we will discover the method behind the Disney magic. This will be a professional development opportunity like no other. Be sure to tell friends and colleagues. As a Chamber member, you will receive a significant discount to attend.

What else can you look forward to seeing?

• Year two of the PEAK Speaker Breakfast Series

• Networking, advertising and support opportunities for your business

• Events such as Cocktails and Connections, Spring Fest, the Golf Outing and more

• Chamber newsletter and social media on Facebook and LinkedIn

• Scholarships for Hamilton High School students

How can you help? The Chamber is as successful as you make us. Events are put on for you to learn new ideas, meet people and network. We offer opportunities to advertise your business and activities. We advocate for your business – providing true benefits from your membership.

My goal is to meet as many members as possible at events, visits to businesses, over coffee or any other way we can connect. I want the Chamber to be of value to you, and the best way to make that happen is to get to know you. Do you want your business to be known? We’d love to video your operations, put you in our spotlight or celebrate milestones like ribbon-cuttings, open houses and more.

In 2020, your Chamber has renewed enthusiasm to bring to life our vision of supporting and promoting business, education and community.

Here is to a wonderful new year and decade!

Joel Potter

Chamber President
