An important message from Chamber President, Joel Potter
COVID-19 has hit many businesses, individuals and communities. Your Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce is no exception.
We engage our members and the community with various events such as PEAK, Cocktails & Connections and many other events and correspondence. The pandemic has eliminated our ability to do scheduled events. We were unable to help host Spring Fest and canceled our annual golf outing. Both events play a role in keeping us financially viable. Most other chambers receive revenue from hotel taxes; our area does not have hotels.
Also, unlike other chambers, we have kept member dues low while putting forward value to our community. We do this by offering creative events. A spectacular Disney event, originally slated for May 12, has been postponed until Oct. 13. This event has the potential to keep SACC fiscally sound and allow us to continue to be an essential advocate for the vitality of our Sussex-Lisbon-Lannon-Butler communities.
We need your support. We are asking you to lend us a hand by sharing, promoting, attending or sponsoring this event. Yes, ticket prices and sponsorship levels are higher than our normal events, but this will be an exceptional experience. To offer an opportunity of this caliber, we have additional expenses for the Disney presentation along with a venue to host and cater a wonderful day of learning. We have taken member feedback to heart and are exploring new locations to bring the event even closer to Sussex.
Our success is the community’s success.
