COVID-19 Guidance – A lesson from Sussex IM
Take a look at how one Sussex business is handling the pandemic:
At Sussex IM, we are fortunate to be considered an “essential supplier” during this pandemic. We take the health and safety of the employees very seriously. As a company, we are taking all measures possible, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to keep our facilities clean and sanitized so that we can we prevent this illness from affecting our employees. We have also implemented “social distancing” on all production lines to limit any potential exposure. This includes installation of plexiglass barriers between employees on workcells with more than one operator that cannot be spaced 6 feet apart.
Additionally, we have updated our cleaning policy to include hourly cleaning of all common areas (door handles, breakrooms, restrooms, timeclocks, etc.) and we have increased the number of hand sanitizer dispensers around our plant. We have also “fogged” the breakrooms on shutdown weekends to get a deep clean of common areas.
Finally, we have made masks available to all employees and check temperatures on a daily basis. Any employee that is absent for any illness or has a temperature over the designated threshold must have a doctors note before returning to work.
These practices have not only made our employees more comfortable, knowing that they are in a safe and healthy workplace, but also our customers. The Company has been running at 100% capacity and will do so into the foreseeable future. Our products are helping to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus and are vital to getting America back to work again.
